Defense Leads Buckeyes to Purdue Win

It was the strong showing by the Ohio State defensive unit that locked up a 16-3 victory over the Purdue Boilermakers yesterday. The offense could not get into a rhythm, nor the endzone, settling for field goals throughout the game.

Special teams came through early in the game as Malcolm Jenkins blocked a Purdue punt and freshman Etienne Sabino ran the ball in for the game’s only TD.

James was all over the field, as usual. He continues to lead the team in tackles. He was in on 10 more yesterday (5 solo, 5 asst).

It certainly wasn’t the statement game that many fans were looking for, but I don’t know that anyone can complain too much when the team records another win to stay undefeated in Big Ten play. Up next, is a much improved Michigan State squad who are now ranked 20th in country. Should be another great Big Ten battle up in East Lansing.

The AP poll is out and Ohio State remains at #12.
