James Named Lombardi Finalist, Lott Semifinalist
James continues to receive recognition for his play on the field and leadership off of it.
The finalists for the 2008 Rotary Lombardi Award have been announced and James made the shortlist for the 2nd year in a row. The Lombardi Award goes to college football’s top lineman.
He is joined by USC’s Rey Maualuga, Texas’ Brian Orakpo, and Alabama’s Andre Smith.
The award will be handed out December 10 at the Hilton Americas Hotel in Downtown Houston. More information is available here.
In addition to the Lombardi, James was also announced as a semifinalist for the Lott Trophy. He was a finalist for this award last year as well. The Lott Trophy is awarded to college football’s Defensive IMPACT Player of the Year who also displays the following characteristics: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity. Sounds like James Laurinaitis to me!
