James Makes Final Cut for Lott Trophy
Just a couple of weeks ago James was named a Lott Trophy Semifinalist. Now that the finalist list has been revealed, I’m pleased to report that James has made the list.
As previously mentioned, the Lott Trophy is awarded to college football’s Defensive IMPACT Player of the Year who also displays the following characteristics: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.
The 3 other players who are up for the award are DE Brian Orakpo (Texas), safety Myron Rolle (Florida State), and linebacker Aaron Curry (Wake Forest).
James was a finalist for the Lott Trophy last year as well. Of all the awards James is in the running for, I feel this one fits him best. He is so much more than a great football player. Integrity, maturity, academics, community, and tenacity describe him to a T. I hope he wins this award.
And a big congrats goes out to James’ high school team Wayzata. The Trojans won the Class 5A Minnesota State Championship over the weekend.
