The speculation is at an all-time high right now! I read more and more about this person’s mock draft and this team’s draft possibilities, and it’s all so exciting… that is, until I read yet another article about how James was absent from the Senior Bowl.

That was weeks ago and people are still writing about it as if he had the attitude that he didn’t need to go or just “skipped” it. It has been pointed out in countless interviews, with James, that the reason he did not participate was because HE HAD THE FLU!

I read a whopper of a quote today. ESPN ‘analyst’ Kevin Seifert told the Freep (Detroit Free Press) the following:

“I can tell you one thing: I know of at least one NFL GM who wasn’t happy that your Ohio State guy skipped the Senior Bowl.

One would certainly hope that NFL GM’s and scouts actually know how to read and realize that illness was the reason for James’ absense, not some prima donna activity.

He went on to say that he expects James to be “grilled” about not being at the Senior Bowl? Seriously? Grilled because he had the freakin’ flu? Well, if that’s what the scouts want to waste their precious time with James on, so be it. He can handle the media. He’s one of the best athletes I’ve ever seen in front of a microphone.

So, bring on the NFL combine! I hope after it ends that I won’t have to read any more crap questioning James’ character or work ethic. We all know he would he have been in Mobile, tearing it up, if he could have.
